I am a Montessori mother raising my son with the principles of respectful parenting. I share our journey at home and on the way and hope to inspire others too.

Hi, I am Ayelet!

I have worked with children in some capacity for over a decade as a nanny, tutor, and camp counselor. Having attended and loved Montessori school myself for preschool and Kindergarten I was drawn to the Montessori method. I completed my diploma in Montessori 0-3 from North American Montessori Center.

In March 2021 we welcomed our son, Yitzchak who has been a joy in our life. He is truly my greatest teacher. He has taught me to slow down and connect. I love staying home with him and using what I have learned to be his guide.

Home and on the Way was built out of my love for child development, respectful parenting, and Montessori. I wanted a place to share our Montessori and respectful parenting journey, hopefully inspiring some others along the way to slow down and connect with their children too.

We live in an apartment in New York City. Our family loves to travel, especially enjoying the outdoors. I seek to help families see that it is possible to travel with babies while respecting their needs. Our love for travel is where the away part of Home and on the Way comes in. We are always learning and connecting at home and on the way.

My parenting philosophy is inspired by Montessori, respectful parenting, modern research in brain science and child development, and attachment theory. In addition to my Montessori certification, I am a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator.

I see all parenting through the lens of connection and building a strong, secure attachment. I seek to find the joy in motherhood, loving seeing the world with my son, and spending special time laughing together every day.
